The Sunday Star Times reports today that Television Presenter Alison Mau (estranged wife of news reader Simon Dallow) will be taking part in a national campaign organised by Rainbow Youth Inc., a gay lobby group that is a registered charity (Reg. No. CC24284) with the Charities Commission. “What the F**k !” is the name given to the gay campaign according to the National Business Review which suggests it may create nationwide offence due to its aggressive marketing.
The charity Rainbow Youth Inc. claims its campaign is “aimed at raising awareness of the discrimination faced by young gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people”. However, the real purpose of this campaign, run jointly by the gay charity lobby group Rainbow Youth and OUTline, is clearly two-fold: (1) to put pressure on the government to change the Marriage Act 1955 so same-sex couples like Mau and her partner Karleen Edmonds, can marry, and ultimately be able to adopt children, and (2) shame the government into feeling it must put more money by way of government grants into the pockets of the charity Rainbow Youth Inc. and its ilk.
Already the National Business Review appears to be assisting the campaign achieve these goals by reporting Rainbow Youth’s false claims that it receives “no government funding” and is only “able to access very little private funding”.
However, the charity Rainbow Youth Inc. received $105,931 in government grants in the financial year ended 31 March 2011, and $98,222 the year before. Its gross income in 2011 was $137,173 and it received $380,300 in 2010. As at the 31 March 2011 it had net assets of $140,053. (see www.charities.govt.nz).
“What the F**k campaign”, headed by Rainbow Youth administrator Sam Shore, is pure and simple “political advocacy” and aggressive lobbying by a government-funded charity that claimed to the NBR that there has been “a massive spike in demand” for its support and counseling services from “queer” youth. The latter claims, according to its critics, constitute a blatant sales pitch by this Auckland-based charity lobby group for more funding.
The NBR reported on Friday that Alison Mau will be joined by other “celebrities” at the Auckland Q Theatre on Wednesday 22 May 2012 at the launching of the “What the F**k Campaign” – aimed at stopping “sexual preference discrimination”.
Rainbow Youth Inc, which has as its mission “to provide support, information and advocacy services to queer and questioning youths, their friends and whanau”, received a total gross income in the the financial year ended 31/03/2011 of $137,873. All of that money – and more – (a total of $138,013) was spent in 2010/2011 on salaries and wages resulting in a massive budget blowout – a deficit of $133,335. The annual salary/wages bill jumped from $89,693 in 2010 to $138,013 in 2011, despite the fact that over both years only two people were employed full-time and one part-time (a total of 110 hours on average per week).
Rainbow Youth is already deriding John Key’s stance on same-sex ‘marriage’ (‘do nothing but welcome debate’) as “shameful”. The pressure is on from Rainbow Youth and its celeb supporters – including Alison Mau, Oliver Driver and Tamati Coffey! Gay lobbyists want same-sex marriage to be available NOW, even though many other gays are content with civil unions or reject the need for any form of official classification of their relationship, altogether.
With US President Barak Obama’s recent ‘affirmation’ on same-sex ‘marriage’, Rainbow Youth lobbyists feel they have never been closer to being able to ram home their gay-marriage message here in New Zealand and force legislators to act in their interests.
