American businessman who publicly criticised NZ Govt faces eight charges in the Auckland District Court today

A Texas-based businessman, Mr John Malcolm Carr (see photo: http://www.carr.co.nz/images/jmc.jpg ), who criticised the New Zealand Government’s economic direction in a full-page advertisement in the Business Herald ten years ago, faces eight charges in the Auckland District Court on Friday 15 October 2010 Courtroom 2 @ 2.15 p.m. – charges brought against him by the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) under the Financial Reporting Act 1993. The alleged offences relate to four companies he currently directs and owns:

Velocity Partners Ltd (which owns 39% of hard porn company CVC Group Ltd and through a daughter company Kinetiq Ltd owns 2 Auckland properties), Shelf Company No 10 Ltd (which owns a $3 M property in Pakiri see http://www.kiwistop.com/chillout/ ), PJ Digital Ltd (owns a resort facility on Waiheke Is see http://www.kiwistop.com/waiheke/), and First Virtual Deposit and Nominees Ltd.

On 10th October 2000 John M Carr published “An open letter to Ms. Helen Clark, The Prime Minister of New Zealand” in the Herald (see http://www.ilovenz.co.nz/letter1.htm ). The following day the Herald published Mr Carr’s photo in an article reporting on Ms Clark’s angry reaction to his views (see  http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=154653.

John M Carr is currently the sole director of hardcore porn companies Eden Digital Ltd and CVC Group Ltd, both of which he co-directed with Stephen (Steve) Peter Crow, until Crow was banned from being a director of any company for four years by the MED on 16 April 2010. Crow resigned on 15 May 2010 after being personally served the banning order on 14 May 2010.

John M Carr currently lists his residential address as 289 Cornish Point Rd, Cromwell for all the companies he directs listed on the NZ companies website www.companies.govt.nz This property operates as a bed and breakfast businesss/tretreat with live-in managers. see http://www.kiwistop.com/cornishpoint/. Up until 2 September 2010 he had used a Remuera address as is residential address. His Profile listed on his 2010 copyrighted website ( http://johnmcarr.com/profile.htm ) contains no information after April 2006.
