Online store takes photographer’s $3000 for lens it never delivered, then leaves NZ.
Photographer ripped off online when company directed and owned by Hong Kong resident Roy Li, went into liquidation. Non-compliance issues – director’s alleged breaches of Companies Act 1993 – notified to NZ Companies Office Enforcement Team.
An amateur photographer is heartbroken after an online shop disappeared with not only her $3000, but also her dream of going professional.
Liquidator ShephardDunphy said in its final report that Pro 1 Digital Ltd [Co. No. 366861] went into liquidation because of lack of sales on May 20, owing more than $16,000 in taxes and more than $20,000 to other creditors. After liquidator’s fees and disbursements of $4,681.32 were paid out, nothing was left in the liquidated company’s bank account to pay preferential creditors, including the IRD or any of the many unsecured creditors.
