Olympic silver medallist Nick Willis has gone public about his addiction to pornography, which he says didn’t just affect him but also his family.
The 32-year-old runner says he has now been porn-free for two-and-a-half years, which he marked with a posting on his Facebook page, and it was an amazing feeling.
“Porn makes you think you are having sexual needs met, but really they are hollow and leave you feeling empty and lonelier than before,” he wrote.

Willis said he had started watching porn when he was a teenager and it “had been a rollercoaster ride of shame and justification”.
“Not until I realised the true implications this had on my marriage, and ability to father could I finally break free.”
Willis’ wife Sierra could take much of the credit for beating his addiction, he told the Herald on Sunday.
The couple had decided to make a public stance against the growing accessibility of porn in society.
Willis won the silver medal in the 1500m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and will compete again at the Rio De Janeiro Games this year.
