Porn tycoon Steve Crow pleads not guilty – TV ONE NEWS – 5 April

“Controversial businessman Steve [Stephen Peter] Crow has pleaded not guilty to a charge of breaching a ban on managing companies in court in Auckland this afternoon [April 5, 2011].

“The Ministry of Economic Development imposed the four-year ban last year, following the collapse of several companies linked to Crow, best known as the organiser of Auckland’s Boobs on Bikes parade.

“The ministry alleges Crow was involved in the management and promotion of Eden Digital Ltd, the company that runs several firms with links to the sex industry, including the annual Erotica expo, and adult entertainment company Vixen. [Eden Digital Ltd currently has only one listed director, John M Carr CPA, whose US-registered corporation Better Business Services, Inc owns the domain namesof a number of hard core porn websites].

“Crow says he is only a shareholder in Eden Digital. [However, based on the most recent Annual Return on the NZ Companies Office website, registered on 11 June 2010, ALL Eden Digital’s shares (150,000) are owned by CVC Group Ltd directed by John Malcolm Carr CPA].

“An Auckland District Court judge today set a date for a full [defended] hearing in September [12, 13 and 14 September].” [Crow’s indication of sentence hearing was set down for 27 April at 10 am at the Auckland District Court. This will be his last opportunity to plead guilty prior to the defended hearing].

Was Christchurch Earthquake Man-Made? – Uncensored Magazine launched by Steve Crow

The latest issue of Uncensored Magazine which was originally launched by “controversial businessman and publisher Steve Crow (best known for his popular Erotica Adult Lifestyle Expos)” back on 12 September 2005, makes the claim that the latest 6.3 magnitude Christchurch earthquake could have been man-made. The editor, Jonathan Eisen, in a posted website comment dated 25 February 2011, rather than treating this claim as absurd speculation, presents it as a REAL possibility and makes the pernicious and defamatory claim that the New World Order (NWO) bankers want NZ impoverished, and have somehow funded the “HAARP job” [High Frequency Active Auroral Research Project] that supposedly caused this earthquake and the major one that struck in September last year.

The Society believes that New Zealanders will be outraged at such nonsense being propagated via this magazine and its website. At a time of such national tragedy, the propagation of such vile conspiracy theories is reprehensible, undermines the public good and sows the seeds of confusion and discord.

Editor Eisen wrote on 24 February 2011 in what has been billed as one of the magazine’s “top stories”:

Looks like the Christchurch disaster might well be another HAARP job. What better way to totally bankrupt the country, destroy our welfare state, our social safety nets, education and health, and steal all of our remaining assets? ….. The NWO bankers want NZ impoverished, like the rest of the world, and now they’re “going for broke”.

In a veiled reference he even ties our Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. John Key, into the absurd conspiracy when he writes of the NWO: ” their banker PM is carrying out his orders. There’s a good reason they used to call him “The Smiling Assassin” in London. [see ref. 1 below for explanation of this ‘nickname’]

Clearly such accusations are defamatory and all New Zealanders would be outraged by this ridiculous ‘explanation’ of the earthquakes and their origin in a NWO plot involving John Key. [Read more…]

Censors protecting the “public good” from the morally toxic impact of the pornographers

The Annual Report 2009/10 of the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) has just been released to the public. It highlights how censors have sought to protect the New Zealand public from the toxic, putrid and pernicious impact of, and exposure to – hard core pornography – such as the numerous DVDs imported from the United States by companies such as Auckland-based Eden Digital Ltd, directed by American-based businessman John Malcolm Carr.

The Herald of Sunday (“Ministry targets porn mogul” Steve Crow)  reported that $640,000 of sexually explicit porn DVDs  were transferred to John M Carr’s Eden Digital Ltd,  just prior to two of Steve Crow’s companies being put into liquidation. So many DVDs that Eden Digital has imported and submitted for classification have been deemed “objectionable” (i.e. banned) – for degrading sexually explicit content – that the Society wonders why the police, in consultation with NZ Customs, have not laid charges against its director John M Carr for the importation of “objectionable” publications from the US. The OFLC considers the banning of such material “a reasonable limitation on the freedom expression” to “prevent injury to the public good”. [Read more…]

John M Carr, Eden Digital Ltd, Banned Sex DVDs and the US-NZ Connection

John Malcolm Carr (see photos links below), director of the NZ registered company Eden Digital Ltd, resides in the United States, the country of origin of many of the DVDs containing sexually explicit content that his hardcore porn distribution company imports into New Zealand.

A significant number contain “a high degree of degrading, dehumanising and demeaning sexual conduct which, combined with the manner of presentation of this conduct, results in the women involved, and by extension women in general, being highly degraded, dehumanised and demeaned”(see full report below).

Of the seven DVDs Eden Digital submitted for classification to the OFLC that were clasified during the month of September this year, two were classified “objectionable” (i.e. they were banned) based on their depiction of sexual content that degraded women. No opportunity was given for Mr John M Carr’s company to make any excisions. Of the remaining five DVDs imported by Mr John M Carr’s company, two contained sexually degrading content that had to be removed (excised) before the publications could be issued a label allowing for distribution within New Zealand. This was done and advertisements were added promoting the NZ hardcore porn magazine NZX published by banned company director Steve Crow. The other three DVDs focused exclusively on sexually explicit content but did not require excisions before they could be distributed.

Mr John M Carr, whose most recent entries on his websites (www.johnmcarr.com and www.carr.co.nz) were in 2006, is recorded as a certified public accountant (CPA) based in San Antonio, Texas. He is both a NZ and US citizen. As the Society stated on page 4 of its December Newsletter (available on its website):

“In short, the porn sleaze money trail extends from the registered offices of Eden Digital Ltd and Velocity Partners Ltd in North Shore, Auckland, (both properties owned by – Kinetiq Ltd – directed by John M Carr and owned by Velocity Partners Ltd – also directed and owned by Carr) right across the blue Pacific to John M. Carr’s business address in sunny sexy San Antonio Texas.”

The “Texas-Godzone Connection” as we referred to it on page 14 of the December Newsletter, is a “sleaze money trail”, involving US porn directors Antom Slayer, Oliver Brand, Vincent Voss, Stoney Curtis, numerous porn stars and their promoters (see Eden Digital imported DVDs below). [Read more…]

Porn Company Connections and Directors John M. Carr and Steve Crow

The Society’s December 2009 Newsletter (Issue 110), among other things, addressed the questions:

  • Who is funding the New Zealand porn industry linked to “porn entrepreneur”  and NZ “Porn King” Stephen (Steve) Peter Crow? (He is now a banned as a company director for four years – see below).
  • Who is company director John Malcolm Carr an American citizen who is Principal of Carr Consulting P.A. (A Florida-based Professional Association) and who directs hardcore porn company Eden Digital Ltd and its mother company CVC Group Ltd?   • Why is the Overseas Investment Office currently investigating the purchase of a $3,000,000 “sensitive” coastal property at Pakiri Beach purchased on 4 October 2005 by the NZ registered company Shelf Company No 10 Ltd owned and directed by John M Carr CPA?

The companies schematic diagram below, updated on 25 June 2010,  is based on one taken from the Society’s December 2009 Newsletter (latest high definition version is available here in PDF format). Just two days after the Dec. Newsletter was published on our website Mr John M Carr changed all four company shareholdings – at the centre of the diagram – from “Cuchara Inc” (a defunct corporation name) to “Carr Consulting P.A.” and changed the shareholder’s address from 22588 Scenic Loop Rd, San Antonio,  TX 78230-2253, US to 14/31 Greenlane Road East, Remuera, Auckland 1050. Then on 20 April 2010, while under investigation by the NEU, he transferred all the shares of all four companies into his own name and recorded his  “residential address” as Flat 14 Remuera Mews, 31 Greenlane East, Remuera, Auckland 1050. Checketts McKay Trustees Limited is the trustee for this property as well as 371 other properties throughout New Zealand. Charged with eight offences under the Financial Reporting Act 1993 brought against him by the Ministry of Economic Development, Mr John M Carr was summoned to appear before the Auckland District Court on 12 August 2010. Neither he nor his lawyer appeared and the case was adjourned at his lawyer’s request to 31 August. It was then adjourned again until 28 September. The case was then adjourned again and is now set down for 2.15 pm Friday 15 October 2010 in Courtroom 2. In the meantime on 2, 3 & 13 September, Mr Carr’s operations officer Deirdre Coker of Flat 14, 31 Green Lane, Remuera 1050 went on-line on the Companies Office website and changed Mr Carr’s residential address and his shareholder address where applicable, for all companies he directs and/or owns, to 289 Cornish Point Road, Cromwell 9384, New Zealand. On 13 September Mr Stuart Cairns, co-director of New Zealand Petroleum Exploration Ltd, changed Mr Carr’s residential address from the Remuera one to 289 Cromwell Point Rd, Cromwell 9384. On 14 September Mr John Frederick Commins, co-director with Mr Carr of IP Investors Ltd, did the same thing.
