Suspended Child Porn Doctor Should Be Named – says Family First

September 7, 2010 by SPCS Leave a Comment

Family First Media Release 2 September 2010

[Note Family First is a registered charity with the Charities Commission. See www.familyfirst.org.nz and www.charities.govt.nz ]

Family First NZ says that a doctor convicted of possessing and distributing child sex abuse images should be named.

“Patients and parents should be informed so that they can make an informed choice as to whether they continue having him as their family doctor, even after his nine month suspension,” says Bob McCoskrie, National Director of
Family First NZ.

“The doctor in question admitted 25 charges of possessing objectionable material and one charge of distributing an objectionable publication. He not only had 290,000 images of young girls in explicit sexual poses but as well as that, the doctor was found to be distributing objectionable material further. This is not a one-off slip.”

“The rights of the doctor to name suppression and privacy should not be greater than the right of patients and especially parents to know the character of their doctor. That is the price the doctor must pay to match the gravity of
the abuse of children. Many parents would rightly be concerned at a doctor with those convictions examining their young son or daughter.”

“Parents should be given the right to make an informed decision,” says Mr McCoskrie.

Steve Crow, banned company director, promotes porn sleaze on city streets

August 6, 2010 by SPCS Leave a Comment

On Wednesday 11th August at 12.30 pm banned company director Steve Crow and Miss Erotica 2010 will be heading a parade of scorpion tanks, motorcycles with bare-breasted pillions and vehicles down Queen Street Auckland – in order to promote Crow’s failing hardcore pornography empire. Eden Digital Ltd directed by John Malcolm Carr, a San Antonio Texas based CPA, is the business entity linked to the parade of tawdry titillation that promotes a forthcoming three day event – Erotica Lifestyles Expo – featuring a collection of imported US-based porn stars, sex toys and lewd acts. On Thursday 12th August at 12.30 pm the same boringly predictable parade will head through Hamilton city streets.

Steve Crow is intending to hand out $250,000 worth of free vouchers to those attending the porn parades, so they can purchase hard core pornography DVDs marketed by his failing business Vixen Direct. [Read more…]

John M Carr – director of Eden Digital Ltd, a hardcore porn promoter

July 16, 2010 by SPCS Leave a Comment

John Malcolm Carr (see photo links below) is sole director of Eden Digital Ltd (formerly called Vixen TV Ltd) which imports and distributes hardcore pornography sleaze publications into New Zealand.

His former co-director Stephen (Steve) Peter Crow was recently banned for four years from being a company director, or being involved in the management or promotion of a company, by the Ministry of Economic Development. Eden Digital Ltd is currently distributor of many hardcore porn DVD titles including four recently classified R18 by the Office of Film and Literature Classification in its June 2010 List of Decisions. All have been given the descriptive note “Contains explicit sex scenes”. The censors required one of these DVDs originating from the United States to be cut to remove its depiction of objectionable content that promotes urination in conjunction with sexual activity. The DVD in its excised version contains an additional component not present in the unexcised version – a Notice promoting the hardcore NZ porn magazine NZX founded and promoted by “Porn King” Steve Crow.

John M Carr, who holds US citizenship and owns a number of NZ registered companies, has had a financial interest in the importation and promotion of hardcore porn sleaze for many years, working closely with his friend Steve Crow, who until his recent 4-year ban, co-directed CVC Group Ltd with him. CVC Group Ltd, directed by John M. Carr, owns Eden Digital Ltd. Eden Digital Ltd has its registered office at 2/18b Triton Drive, Albany, Auckland 1025 – a property owned by PJ Digital Ltd, a company directed and owned by John Malcolm Carr. Mr Carr gives his own residential address for the latter company as Flat 14 Remuera Mews, 31 Green Lane East, Remuera, Auckland, 1050 (Checketts McKay Trustees Ltd is the trustee of this property). PJ Digital Ltd has its registered office at Unit 13, 33 -35 Apollo Drive, Mairangi Bay, Auckland , New Zealand.

Steve Crow and salacious, sordid, tawdry and boring porn sleaze (Erotica Expo) versus Triumphs of human imagination that "raise the human spirit" (World of Wearable Art).

September 26, 2009 by SPCS Leave a Comment

Editorial: A sight to raise the human spirit (The Dominion Post Last 26/09/2009)

OPINION: Two impresarios featured in the news this week: [Stephen Peter Crow and Suzie Moncrieff]

One panders to salacious instincts; the other lifts the human spirit. One is pornographer Steve Crow, the other is World of WearableArt founder Suzie Moncrieff. No prizes for guessing which is which.

Fortunately for Wellington, Mr Crow chose Auckland for his latest Boobs on Bikes parade a publicity stunt that no longer even has the virtue of being novel. [Read more…]

ASB Showgrounds host Porn Promo Sleaze and Steve Crow’s Insolvent Erotica Expo

September 25, 2009 by SPCS Leave a Comment

The Society has raised serious concerns directly with ASB Showgrounds CEO Mark Frankham and his management team over their decision to allow the venue to be hired by an insolvent hardcore porn promo company – Erotica Expo Ltd – that was placed into liquidation on 27 May 2009 under the name Malibu Media Ltd. In a hostile move designed to stiffle freedom of expression, its former director Porn King Steve Crow threatens to throw any person out of the porn sleaze ASB venue who dares to record any image using a camera, video or pxt phone; and threatens to strip them of any electronic device film/memory card, should such images be recorded. The Society’s letter has yet to be answered by the management board which the Society has been informed has met to consider its concerns and will do so again on Monday next week. Management will be aware that it is a serious breach of the Companies Act 1993 for a company director to attempt to carry on trading when his company is in liquidation and/or use the name of an unregistered company for the purposes of trading. The Society’s letter to ASB Showground management is set out below.
